In addition to our Investment Casting and Sand casting processes, ICQ can offer our customers the further option of Shell Moulded sand castings. This process fits in - between Investment and sand castings. This process is foremost a suitable alternative to die casting when production runs are too small to justify tooling costs for die casting, and when dimensional stability is to critical to sand cast. This process offers fast turnaround on small or high volume castings.
Shell moulding requires metal pattern equipment and produces a high quality, good finish and cost effective sand casting. We manufacture all metal pattern equipment in-house, and can supply the finished casting or supply assembled moulds ready to cast.
